PWR BTTM at Joe's Pub last week (more by Sachyn Mital)
PWR BTTM at Joe’s Pub last week (more by Sachyn Mital)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

PWR BTTM @ Joe’s Pub
Glittery pop punk duo PWR BTTM are likely about to have a big 2017, with the release of their anticipated sophomore album (and first for Polyvinyl). This is their second of two sold-out Joe’s Pub shows as part of the Under the Radar festival, and they also play a sold-out Shea show in February.

Just Blaze, Dave East, OT Genasis, Chinx, DJ Wavy, Quiana Parks @ Highline Ballroom
Just Blaze’s recently-launched ‘The Remedy’ party continues tonight with rising Harlem rapper Dave East, whose recent album on Nas’ Mass Appeal Records, Kairi Chanel, features Cam’ron, Fabolous, Beanie Sigel and more, and is certainly rooted in the era of New York rap that those guys got started in. Tonight’s show also has “CoCo” rapper OT Genasis, and more.

Perturbator, Computer Magic, Kel Valhaal @ Le Poisson Rouge
Like S U R V I V E, France’s Perturbator channels ’80s synthwave and horror soundtracks and has some crossover in the metal world. He recently picked up some buzz for his 2016 album The Uncanny Valley (which features a contribution from US black metal band Astronoid), and tonight he makes his NYC debut.

The Wailers, SubAtomic Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Bowl
Bassist Aston “Family Man” Barrett has reunited many of The Wailers original members, including Junior Marvin and Donald Kinsey. This is the second of two Brooklyn Bowl shows.

Dances, Collapsing Scenery, Sloppy Jane, Verdigirls @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Dances skirt the line between high-energy garage rock and late-’70s power pop, which means it’s hooky, riffy and — something we really don’t get enough of these days — fun. They headline tonight’s “Judy” party which also features Don Devore’s band Collapsing Scenery.

Beech Creeps, Bambara, Shop Talk, Fruit and Flowers @ Silent Barn
It’s a night of dark, arty punk with the double-barrel attack of Beech Creeps and Bambara.

Judah Friedlander @ Union Hall
You may know him as Frank on 30 Rock or his book How to Beat Up Anybody in the World. Tonight Judah Friedlander will be performing “New Shit & Old Shit.” What will be on his hat, though?

Geometers, Falling, Good Doom @ Saint Vitus
Brooklyn punks Geometers release their debut album Pay To Live last year, which was produced by J Robbins and owes some debt to the type of hardcore J helped define (they also sound a little like Title Fight).
