You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Pinegrove, Hovvdy, Lomelda @ Bowery Ballroom
Pinegrove had one of the best breakthrough indie rock albums of last year with Cardinal, and they continue to rise in the world. Tonight they play Bowery Ballroom and Sunday they play MHOW, and both are sold out.

David Byrne “Reasons to Be Cheerful” @ BRIC House
The BRIC Open Festival begins tonight with the onetime Talking Head delivering “a talk that reminds us that, despite troubling times, there are still many good, inspiring things happening in our community and in the world.”

Goldfrapp, Corbu @ Brooklyn Steel
After making the somber, orchestral Tales of Us, Goldfrapp are back on glammy electro terra firma with the just-released ‘Silver Eye.’ This is Goldfrapp’s second of two nights at Brooklyn Steel (tickets are available)

Chris Gethard, Janeane Garofalo, Will Miles, Hiccup @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Kristen Buckels and Lacey Jeka of Between Two Bushes present “We’re Fighting” with guests Chris Gethard, Janeane Garofalo and Will Miles, with music by Hiccup, and proceeds go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.

Juliana Hatfield, Laura Stevenson @ Mercury Lounge
The former Blake Babies frontwoman releases her new solo album, Pussycat, this week which was all written after Donald Trump got elected.  “All of these songs just started pouring out of me,” Hatfield says. “I felt an urgency to record them, to get them down, and get them out there.”  This is the first of two consecutive nights at Mercury Lounge.

Of Montreal, Christina Schneider’s Jepeto Solutions, Potted Plant @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Kevin Barnes might not ride a horse on stage like he used to, but Of Montreal always put on a colorful, inventive show and there’s no denying the tunes.

Moon Duo, Jackie Lynn @ Rough Trade
Pacific Northwest drone/psych/pop two-piece Moon Duo just released the second of their Occult Architecture series and celebrate with this show tonight. They’ll be back for the Sacred Bones 10th anniversary show during Northside as well.

Bush Tetras, The Karen Haglof Band @ The Delancey
New York post punk icons Bush Tetras promise to debut their first new material in nearly a decade tonight, along with classics.

Screaming Females, Future Punx, Snakeskin @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
NJ punk shredders Screaming Females never spend too much time off the road, and that’s a good thing ’cause their live show is where it’s at. They’re back in Brooklyn tonight.

21 Savage, Young M.A., Young Nudy, Tee Grizzley, Anthony Somebody @ Irving Plaza
Last year, 21 Savage picked up a lot of buzz for his collab mixtape with Metro Boomin, Savage Mode, and Young M.A. did too for her addictive, “OOOUUU,” New York’s rap hit of the summer. They’re on tour together now, and this is their second of two nights at Irving Plaza.

Bonobo, Romare, Innov Gnawa @ Terminal 5
Electronic musician Bonobo continues to get more and more massive, and this week he plays two sold-out Terminal 5 shows. Opening is Brooklyn Gnawa music group Innov Gnawa, who appear on Bonobo’s new album Migration.

Vampire Belt; Samara Lubelski & Bill Nace; Leila Bordreuil, Daniel Carter & Chris Corsano @ Union Pool
This show is cool all around for fans of the avant-garde. Bill Nace and Chris Corsano’s Vampire Belt project headline, and then both play other sets to open the night. Nace, who is one half of Body/Head with Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, is playing with Samara Lubelski, who is a former member of Thurston Moore’s band.

Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs, Mikey Erg, The Lame-Os, The Othermen @ Alphaville
Ahead of their tour with The Dirty Nil and The Flatliners, Sam Coffey & the Iron Lungs are headlining their own show in NYC tonight. It’s a cool bill, with the very busy punk musician Mikey Erg and The Lame-Os (aka Eric from Lame-O Records, Ian from Modern Baseballl, and Evan from The Superweaks).

Bowl Train w/ Talib Kweli (DJ) @ Brooklyn Bowl
Questlove’s weekly Bowl Train DJ night at Brooklyn Bowl has had some type of special edition each week in April. For this last one, Talib Kweli is taking over.
