You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Elvis Costello and the Imposters @ Central Park SummerStage
Elvis Costello is currently on his spring leg of his Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers tour where he’s framing selections from 1982’s Imperial Bedroom album with “the songs that led in and out of that velvet-trimmed playhouse.” His band The Imposters has a couple Attractions, too: drummer Pete Thomas and keyboardist Steve Nieve.

The Shins, Tennis @ Prospect Park
The Shins returned this year with Heartworms, their first album in five years, and they’re now on tour supporting it. This is their first of two currently announced NYC shows (the other is in November) and it’s sold out.

Bob Dylan @ The Capitol Theatre
Bob Dylan’s last three albums, including this year’s Triplicate, have all been covers albums. But don’t worry, his live shows still include a handful of classic Dylan songs. This is his last show in a three-night run at the Cap, and it’s also the venue’s 500th show since re-opening (Dylan also played re-opening night in 2012).

Neil Diamond @ Madison Square Garden
Currently celebrating five decades of making music with ‘The 50 Year Anniversary Tour,’ Neil Diamond plays his first of two Barclays shows.

Sorority Noise, Forth Wanderers, The Obsessives, Shannen Moser @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Sorority Noise returned earlier this year with You’re Not As _____ As You Think, their first album for Triple Crown and probably their best album yet. Their live shows have quite the strong artist-to-fan connection. If you’ve never seen them, it’s very worth it.

Wesley Stace, Steven Page @ City Winery
Wesley Stace (aka John Wesley Harding) often plays City Winery for his Cabinet of Wonders variety shows, but tonight he’s dialing things back to celebrate the release of his new album Wesley Stace’s John Wesley Harding.

James Vincent McMorrow @ Brooklyn Steel
James VIncent McMorrow debuted with the Bon Iver-ish Early in the Morning, which was followed by the James Blake-ish Post Tropical, and then the alt-R&B of last year’s We Move, for which he worked with some of Drake’s producers. This year he returned with True Care, which is most similar to the latter two albums (but doesn’t abandon that Bon Iver influence).

RIPS, Hypoluxo, Wild Pink, Yours Are The Only Ears @ The Glove
Brooklyn band RIPS will release their debut album this week via Faux Discsx. While it pulls inspiration from late ’70s NYC mutant pop (Feelies, Television), it’s wirey, snarling and hooky in a modern way and really bristles with energy.

Witch Taint, Dave Hill, Phil Costello @ Union Hall
In 2004 comedian, musician and gadabout Dave Hill created alter-ego Lance, a teenager living with his parents in Gary, IN who also happened to be the lead singer and sole member of “the most extreme, brutal, and Satanic black metal band of all-time,” There’s a lot more to this story, and you can hear it all — and see Witch Taint live — tonight.

Dr. John & Henry Butler @ Town Hall
Two New Orleans icons, Dr. John and Henry Butler, are performing together at this show to celebrate the music of their hometown.
