What's going on Tuesday?

Adrianne Lenker
Adrianne Lenker

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Adrianne Lenker (of Big Thief), Nick Hakim, Henry Jamison @ Murmrr Theatre
Before Big Thief began taking off, singer Adrianne Lenker used to also perform as a solo artist, and she’s doing that again on tour right now. Tonight’s show is sold out.

CupcakKe, The Illustrious Blacks, Gooddroid (DJ) @ Le Poisson Rouge
CupcakKe may be best known for how over the top raunchy she is, but she’s no novelty. She can really rap, she has a great message, and this year’s Ephorize is one of 2018’s best rap albums so far. Her live shows are also a ton of fun, as you can experience tonight.

Gaz Coombes, Ayron Jones @ Mercury Lounge
The onetime Supergrass frontman is gearing up to release his third solo album, World’s Strongest Man, and is currently on a solo tour of North America. Gaz’s voice is as good as ever…maybe better. Expect new songs and at least a few Supergrass faves.

Secret Circle (Wiki, Antwon, Lil Ugly Mane) @ Saint Vitus
Wiki is bigger than ever as a solo artist thanks to the success of last year’s great No Mountains In Manhattan, but he’s still finding time for his other projects like Secret Circle, his alt-rap trio with Antwon and Lil Ugly Mane. They play two Brooklyn shows this week, this being the first. It’s sold out.

‘The Music of Led Zeppelin’ rehearsal show @ City Winery
The night before Michael Dorf’s annual “The Music of” tribute shows at Carnegie Hall, there’s always a rehearsal show at the much smaller City Winery. They never announce the lineup for the rehearsal show, but it’s always got a lot of the artists who play Carnegie Hall the next night. This year’s Carnegie Hall lineup includes J Mascis, The Zombies, Bettye LaVette, Living Colour, Richie Sambora, Erika Wennerstrom (of Heartless Bastards) and more.

Moor Mother @ The Kitchen
Rising experimental artist Moor Mother is the winner of esteemed non-profit arts space The Kitchen’s inaugural Emerging Artist Award. She plays there with a free jazz ensemble tonight, and she does a solo electronic set tomorrow.

Springsteen on Broadway @ Walter Kerr Theatre
The Boss continues his completely sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through June! At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”

Sage Francis & B. Dolan as The Epic Beard Men, ECID, DJ Thanksgiving Brown @ C’mon Everybody
Underground rap staples and “real-life rap BFFs” Sage Francis and B. Dolan have a new collaborative project called Epic Beard Men, and they just released their debut EP Season 1 last month. Their full-length debut album is due in October, and they’re promising lots of touring before that, including tonight’s NYC show.
