What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Xiu Xiu @ Guggenheim Museum (two shows)
Experimental pop artist Xiu Xiu is doing a special show titled “Deforms the Unburn” at the Guggenheim tonight as part of Danh Vo’s “Take My Breath Away” exhibition. Xiu Xiu will “[premiere] an extended-length track about the agonizing experience of demonic possession, based on firsthand accounts of exorcisms in modern history. This new composition was inspired by Danh Vo’s body of work titled after obscenities uttered in William Friedkin’s classic horror film, The Exorcist (1973).”

Leon Bridges, Mick (DJ) @ Rough Trade
After mastering a sort of ’60s soul revival on his debut album Coming Home, Leon Bridges’ new sophomore album Good Thing takes his sound in various other, often more modern directions, and it’s good stuff. Tonight he plays an intimate NYC release show, and he’ll be back here to headline two Radio City shows in October.

Car Seat Headrest, Gold Connections @ Market Hotel
Have just released a rerecorded version of his early Bandcamp album Twin City, Car Seat Headrest play this fairly intimate, probably sweaty, most definitely sold-out show. They’ve got two big Brooklyn Steel shows in September

Jessie Ware, Albin Lee Meldau @ Brooklyn Steel
Alt-pop singer Jessie Ware is touring behind last year’s Glasshouse, and tonight’s her second of two shows at Brooklyn Steel.

Amber Mark, Demo Taped @ Bowery Ballroom
Pop/R&B singer Amber Mark is fresh off releasing her new EP Conexão, and she continues to rise in the world. Tonight’s show is sold out.

Halfnoise, Chappo @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
While Zac Farro is back behind the drum kit in Paramore, he’s still reserving time for the band that he fronts, Halfnoise, who make a kind of Tame Impala-inspired psych pop. If you’ve seen Paramore recently, you may have seen Zac perform one of his Halfnoise songs. Tonight, Halfnoise do their own set in NYC.

Springsteen on Broadway
The Boss continues his sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through December. At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”

David J (Q&A + signing) @ Rough Trade
Former Bauhaus and Love and Rockets bassist David J is at Rough Trade tonight promoting  the new edition of his memoir, Who Killed Mister Moonlight?: Bauhaus, Black Magick, and Benediction, speaking with Shade Rupe and signing copies of the book.

David Cross, Nore Davis @ Littlefield
David Cross will heading out on his “Oh Come On” tour but he’s still finessing the material at a few small Brooklyn shows.
