Deerhunter at Forest Hills Stadium
Deerhunter at Forest Hills Stadium in 2017 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Deerhunter, Vorhees @ Elsewhere Hall
Deerhunter’s last album was 2015’s very solid Fading Frontier, which was a return to calmer psychedelia after the noisy 2013 album Monomania. They’re following it this year with the Cate Le Bon-produced Double Dream of Spring, and while we haven’t heard any of tha talbum yet, they are debuting new songs (and a new live lineup) on their current tour. They play NYC tonight and tomorrow, and they’ll be back for a free House of Vans show in the summer.

Wye Oak, Torres, Palm @ Brooklyn Steel
Having just released their sixth album, The Louder I Call, The Faster it Runs, duo Wye Oak (who are a trio on this tour) bring their sweeping live show to Brooklyn. If you’re going, do get there in time to catch Torres.

Cindy Lee, Brandy @ Union Pool
Patrick Flegel, formerly of Canadian band Women, now performs haunted pop under the name Cindy Lee and performances are rare.

Ghost @ The Capitol Theatre
Occult rockers Ghost are releasing their new album Prequelle this year and in December, they’ll take on Brooklyn’s massive Barclays Center as headliners. Before that, you can see them play a MUCH smaller NYC-area show tonight.

Tav Falco & The Panther Burns, Jack Martin’s Bob Dylan Deathwatch, The Othermen @ The Safari Room at El Cortez
Legendary Memphis eccentric and punk/rockabilly lifer Tav Falco is still going strong and the current iteration of Panther Burns play this intimate show tonight.

Har Mar Superstar & Eli Paperboy Reed @ Le Poisson Rouge
A lot of people think of Har Mar Superstar as a novelty artists, but probably doesn’t get enough credit for his soulful voice. Tonight he’s putting those powerful pipes front and center at this tribute to Sam Cooke with help from Eli Paperboy Reed.

Starcrawler, Yaasss @ Elsewhere Zone One
If there’s one thing L.A.’s glammy rockers Starcrawler are known for its their wild live show, with singer Arrow de Wilde really giving her all. See it for yourself
