What's going on Tuesday?

Seaport Music Festival 15th Anniversary - Saturday
Ted Leo & Jean Grae @ Seaport Music Fest 2017 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Jean Grae @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Ted Leo & Pharmacists are celebrating the 15th anniversary of their classic 2003 album Hearts of Oak and will be playing it in full tonight. Also on the bill is Ted’s good friend, rapper and comedian Jean Grae.

Eternal Summers, High Waisted, Overlake @ Rough Trade
Virginia’s terrific Eternal Summers recently released Every Day It Feels Like I’m Dying, which finds them going in a jazzier, more indie pop direction, which is a natural turn from their shoegazy, indie rock of previous LPs.

Of Montreal, Christina Schneider’s Locate S,1 @ Le Poisson Rouge
Part of Le Poisson Rouge’s 10th Anniversary celebration, offbeat pop vets Of Montreal play this rather intimate show

Guerilla Toss, Wume, Nick Forte @ Union Pool
Brooklyn ragtag post-punk dance outfit Guerilla Toss, whose most recent album, GT Ultra, came out via DFA, are playing Brooklyn’s Union Pool every Tuesday in June.

Kurt Vile, Purling Hiss @ Asbury Lanes
Master of chill, Kurt Vile plays the newly reopened Asbury Lanes tonight. The show was originally to have been opened by Goat Girl but they headed back to the UK to play Later with Jules Holland, so fellow Philly band Purling Hiss play tonight.

Nervous Dater, awakebutstillinbed, Brackish, Hard Pass @ Bushwick Public House
In certain underground emo circles, San Jose’s awakebutstillinbed have one of the most talked-about debut albums of the year, but their album doesn’t prepare you for the band’s breathtaking live show, where singer Shannon Taylor can go from a whisper to a scream in seconds and stop even the most apathetic concertgoers in their tracks. Tonight’s the band’s first NYC show since the album came out, and it’s with quality indie-punk locals Nervous Dater.

Gordi (ft. The Tallest Man On Earth @ Baby’s All Right
Not only has Gordi played as a member of Bon Iver’s band, but she’s currently got The Tallest Man on Earth playing as a member of her band, so she continues to be in very good company. Tonight’s her third of four shows in her Baby’s All Right residency, and she hinted on Instagram that Alex Lahey will be joining her, as well.

Ani DiFranco, Haley Heynderickx @ White Eagle Hall
Influential singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco is currently on the road with one of our favorite new artists, Haley Heynderickx, and this appealing double bill hits Jersey City tonight.
