What's going on Tuesday?

Triple Crown 20th Anniverary Show at Music Hall of Williamsburg
Foxing at MHOW in 2017 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Foxing, Ratboys, Kississippi @ Bowery Ballroom
Foxing shifted to highly ambitious, genre-hopping art rock for this year’s great Nearer My God, which is their best album yet and a frontrunner for best rock album of the year. This is their first NYC show since its release, and it’s sold out. If you’re going, don’t miss Ratboys and Kississippi, who are both strong openers.

Sheck Wes, Japanese Breakfast, Venus X @ Le Poisson Rouge (NYU Mystery Concert)
School is back in session, which means NYU’s annual Mystery Concert is back too. It’s got a great lineup, with fast-rising Harlem rapper Sheck Wes, energetic dream popsters Japanese Breakfast, and producer/DJ Venus X. Admission is free on a first come, first served basis, and you need a valid NYU ID to get in.

Sammus, Deem Spencer, Ehiorobo @ Mercury Lounge
NYC underground/experimental rapper Sammus is in the midst of a hometown residency at Mercury Lounge, which continues tonight.

Wiegedood, Mutilation Rites @ Saint Vitus Bar
Belgian black metal band Wiegedood is made up of Oathbreaker members Wim Coppers and Gilles Demolder and Amenra’s Levy Seynaeve, and they recently released De Doden Hebben Het Goed III, the third and final installment of their De Doden Hebben Het Goed trilogy (and their first album for Century Media). Tonight, their US tour hits NYC with well-matched local support from Mutilation Rites.

Ilana Michelle Rubin, Lana Schwartz, Phoebe Robinson, Dylan Marron, Neil Sharma @ Union Hall
This is the third anniversary show for “MY Hometown,” where Ilana Michelle Rubin and Lana Schwartz invite comedians to talk all about their hometowns.

Seth Herzog’s SWEET: Stand Up Comedy Show @ The Slipper Room
It’s an all-musical edition of Seth Herzog’s SWEET with Larry Owens, Ziwe Fubudoh, Matteo Lane, Girls With Brown Hair, and guest-hosts Rebecca Vigil and The Vigilante Band.

Springsteen on Broadway
The Boss continues his sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which runs through December. At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
