What's going on Tuesday?

The Strokes @ ACL 2015
The Strokes @ ACL 2015 (more by Tim Griffin)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Strokes, Rey Pila @ Capitol Theatre
The Strokes are no longer on a major label (for the first time in their career), and their first release is the new Future Past Present EP on Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records. It’s no Is This It, but it’s pretty good! We can probably count on some of those songs and plenty of classics at this small pre-Governors Ball NYC-area show.

We Were Promised Jetpacks, Glint @ Bowery Ballroom
For a dose of sad Scottish indie rock, We Were Promised Jetpacks have you covered.

Breakbot, Riton @ Webster Hall
Breakbot brings some ’70s soft rock fromage to the French Touch sound.

Alejandro Escovedo, Steve Poltz @ City Winery
Punk rocker turned roots rocker Alejandro Escovedo wraps up his two-night run at City Winery.

Son Lux @ National Sawdust
Art pop musician Son Lux has collaborations with Sufjan Stevens, Lorde, and more. His latest album is 2015’s Bones on Glassnote Records.

Venom Inc., Necrophagia, Throaat @ Saint Vitus
Venom Inc. is the version of highly influential metal band Venom that features Mantas and Abaddon (but not Cronos). Their tour with death metal beasts Necrophagia hits Vitus tonight and tomorrow.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
