What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Electric Wizard, Midnight @ Brooklyn Steel
UK stoner doom legends Electric Wizard have been going strong since the ’90s and they’re still an absolute forced to be reckoned with. They don’t play too many US shows these days, so don’t miss this opportunity.

Tool, Killing, Joke @ Barclays Center
Tool finally released their long-awaited first album in 13 years, Fear Inoculum, this year, and it rivals plenty of Tool’s classics and is one of of 2019’s best albums. They’re supporting it on an arena tour with post-punk/industrial legends Killing Joke, which hits Brooklyn tonight.

Tool/Killing Joke afterparty with Martin ‘Youth’ Glover (DJ set), Darky Ramone (Subversive Rite) @ Saint Vitus
Keep the Tool/Killing Joke party going at Saint Vitus where Youth of Killing Joke will be DJing late night.

Ringo Deathstarr, Blushing, Rosegarden Funeral Party @ Saint Vitus Bar
Before that, Vitus hosts a night of roaring shoegaze with Austin trio Ringo Deathstarr.

Pigface @ (le) poisson rouge
Martin Atkins is bringing Pigface out of retirement this fall for the group’s first tour in 14 years. The lineup tonight includes En Esch, Randy Blythe, Mary Byker, Lesley Rankine, and more.

Billy Corgan @ Gramercy Theatre
Billy — sorry, William Patrick — Corgan has a new solo album out this week, and tonight he continues his three-night run at Gramercy Theatre where you can expect a mix of solo songs, Smashing Pumpkins songs, Zwan songs, and maybe a cover or two.

Luc Ferrari tribute w/ Tania Chen, Keith Fullerton Whitman, David Grubbs, Eli Keszler, Jon Leidecker, Chris McIntyre, Thurston Moore @ Pioneer Works
Influential French composer Luc Ferrari would have turned 90 this year, and new book Luc Ferrari: Complete Works examines decades of the late artist’s material. To celebrate the book’s publication, there will be a tribute show titled “Luc Ferrari: Stereo Spasms” at Pioneer Works with several musicians Ferrari influenced performing his work. this includes Thurston Moore, David Grubbs, Tania Caroline Chen, Jon Leidecker, and many others, along with the presentation of a recording by Jim O’Rourke (who won’t be in attendance). This is night two of two.

Standing On The Corner @ The Dance
Jazzy, genre-defying NYC group Standing on the Corner contributed to recent albums by Solange, Earl Sweatshirt, and Danny Brown, and their own material (and live shows) are pretty great too.

Timmy’s Organism, Foster Care, Moral Panic @ Sunnyvale
Detroit’s mutant garage punks Timmy’s Organism have been with us for 20 years, making pedal-to-the-metal rippers with a schlock b-movie sensibility and Detroit attitude.

Roy Wood Jr., Liza Treyger, Emmy Blotnick, Stavros Halkias, Todd Barry @ The Sultan Room
Weekly comedy show Good God this week has a seriously good lineup with Todd Barry, Roy Wood Jr, Liza Treyger, Emmy Blotnick, and more.

Purple Pilgrims, Brooks Ginnan, Constant Smiles, Yek Koo @ Union Pool
New Zealand duo Purple Pilgrims recently released their sophomore album Perfumed Earth via Flying Nun. Sisters Valentine and Clementine Nixon made the record in a “wooden sanctuary hidden deep in the wilds of Tapu” and it definitely sounds like they were in touch with the children of the forest on this beautiful album. (Think a more arboraceous Cocteau Twins or Beach House.) This is the last show of their three-Tuesday residency at Union Pool.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
