Morrissey’s popularity south of the border is storied, so here’s a natural progression with this Mexico City seven-piece reinventing The Smiths and Moz classics as Mexican folk songs. Novelty? Sí, pero bueno.

It’s a night of gothy post-punk and dark electronics at this soon-to-close Bushwick venue.
Marty Willson-Piper @ HiFi
Former Church guitarist Marty Wilson Piper plays this intimate solo show tonight.
Dress Code, Skourge, Rare Form, Big Man, Slide @ Sunnyvale Brooklyn
Houston’s Dress Code make raw hardcore with a hell of a bark. It’s worth listening to their EPs/demos but the live show is really where it’s at.
Cake Shop Comedy! @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.
Seth Herzog’s SWEET @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
Punderdome 3000 @ Littlefield
Comedian Jo Firestone and her dad, Fred, host this live game show that encourages you to be the cheesiest you can. The bigger the groan, the better.
