You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Cher, Nile Rodgers & CHIC @ MSG
Cher and CHIC have been bringing the hits to arenas around North America all year, and they’re back in NYC for MSG shows tonight and tomorrow.

SiR @ Brooklyn Steel
TDE-signed R&B/soul singer SiR released his new album Chasing Summer in August, and tonight’s his first NYC show since its release. Sold out.

Bob Dylan @ Beacon Theatre
The great Bob Dylan continues his intimate ten-night run at Beacon Theatre with his band which, if previous nights’ setlists (which have been pretty much the same) are any indication, includes lots of favorites.

Sam Amidon, Xylouris White @ (le) poisson rouge
It’s a double release party tonight with Sam Amidon’s Fatal Flower Garden EP and Xylouris White’s The Sisypheans.

The Rapture, Crickets, Wah Together, DJ Vangelis from LaGaSta @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
The Rapture are continuing to play shows after reforming early in the year and this is the first of two Music Hall shows this week.

The Dirty Nil, Single Mothers, Ultra Major @ Rough Trade
Canadian punk bands The Dirty Nil and Single Mothers both put on killer, in-your-face live shows and tonight should be no different.

Madison McFerrin, Adeline, Kenice Mobley @ The Greene Space
Rising neo-soul and a cappella singer Madison McFerrin is The Greene Space’s 2019 Fall/Winter Artist in Residence, and tonight she’ll present an edition of her Sissieretta Series, which was “inspired by 19th century soprano Sissieretta Jones and her innovative productions, that showcased her unique vocals and her friends’ talents.” She “will convene local performers, artisans, creatives and vendors, specifically highlighting women of color. Each show will be preceded by a happy hour featuring live DJ sets and artisanal crafts for sale.”

Johnny Darlin @ the Elements, Phantom Wave, Jason Anderson, Alex Henry Foster @ Pianos
Long-running indie rock singer/songwriter Jason Anderson has been releasing one “lost” project a month in 2019 as he gears up for his new album. He’s also playing a few shows. Last night he played acoustic at Pete’s Candy Store and tonight he’s playing with a full band. Free show.

Bridget Kearney, Aoife O’Donovan, Joan As Police Woman @ Pete’s Candy Store
Pete’s Candy Store is celebrating its 20th anniversary this week, tonight’s too-big-for-this-tiny-venue lineup features  Joan as Police Woman, Lake Street Dive’s Bridget Kearney, Aoife O’Donovan (I’m With Her, Crooked Still).

Sloppy Jane, Sweet Baby Jesus, Water From Your Eyes @ The Dance
While their records are good, confrontational punk performance artists Sloppy Jane really need to be seen live to get the full experience.

Stew and Heidi’s Chriskwanakuh Winter Soul-Schtick Celebration @ Joe’s Pub
The songwriting team behind Passing Strange offer up their own take on holiday favorites, mashed up with their own songs.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and perfmance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
