Hamilton Leithauser kicks of his January residency at swanky supper club Cafe Carlyle tonight. This is one show where Hamilton will definitely not be the only person dressed up: “Chic attire. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets.”

Winter Jazzfest continues tonight with drummer Mark Guiliana and Medeski Martin & Wood’s Billy Martin.

French Quarter: Jazz in NYC featuring Naissam Jalal, Géraldine Laurent, and Thomas de Pourquery & Supersonic @ Joe’s Pub
Need more jazz? It’s a night of all French artists, including flautist Naïssam Jalal, saxophonist Géraldine Laurent, and the Sun Ra-inspired Thomas de Pourquery & Supersonic.

Gustaf, Kaleta & Super Yamba Band, Francesca D’Uva, Tai Lee @ Baby’s All Right
Quirky, entertaining Brooklyn post-punk band Gustaf continue their January residency at Baby’s tonight.

Country Westerns, Unknown Sender, People’s Court @ Union Pool
Nashville’s Country Westerns headline this free show that also includes People’s Court (ex Savoy Motel).
