Peter Murphy – Mr. Moonlight (Bauhaus Set) @ Le Poisson Rouge
While the idea of Peter Murphy doing an all-Bauhaus set was more exciting before the news that Bauhaus were going to actually reform, this is still a chance to see him perform these songs in an intimate setting. Part of his rescheduled LPR residency.
Frankie Rose, Brandy @ Union Pool
Having played in a few seminal late ’00s bands (Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls) and made a few great records on her own, too, Frankie Rose plays live for the first time in a long time tonight. Free show, no RSVP…entrance based on capacity.
Richard Lloyd Group (Television), Bodega, Arturo Bandinis @ Sixty Sixth Congress As a founding member of Television, guitarist Richard Lloyd helped create a sound that is still influential today. He plays with his group tonight and opening are very good Brooklyn post-punks Bodega.
Temples, Art d’Ecco, Wives @ Webster Hall
UK band Temples, who mix psych, glam and pop, just kicked off their winter tour in support of their third album, Hot Motion.
New York Night Train w/ Ian Svenonius & Jonathan Toubin @ TV Eye
Jonathan Toubin, who is a co-owner of new Bushwick/Ridgewood party palace TV Eye, presents this show with live performances from Flasyd, Bipolar, and Smock and then at 11 Toubin and Ian Svenonius will spin records.
Mike Birbiglia @ Lortel Theatre
Mike Birbiglia, who went to Broadway (and Netflix) with his great standup show “The New One,” is in the midst of trying out some new material at this “Working It Out” run at the West Village’s Lortel Theatre, which continues tonight and wraps up tomorrow.
