What's going on Tuesday?

Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen at MSG in January (more by PSquared)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Bruce Springsteen @ MetLife Stadium
The Boss has been touring all year, bringing his endless energy and lengthy setlists all around the world. Tonight he begins another leg of the tour in his home state of Jersey. It’s his first of two MetLife Stadium shows this week.

Black Sabbath @ PNC Bank Arts Center
The legendary Black Sabbath are saying this is their last tour ever, so that makes this one of the last chances you’ll ever get to see them in the NYC-area. They sounded fantastic at the MSG shows earlier this year. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger.

Lord Dying, Black Fast, Child Bite @ Saint Vitus
Lord Dying returned last year with Poisoned Altars (on Relapse), which was a killer dose of Mastodon/High on Fire-style sludge. Good openers tonight too.

Dump, Ed Askew Band, Sloppy Heads @ Union Pool
This is a very cool meeting of two different minds: Dump (aka Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew) and folk legend Ed Askew, who’s had great music out since the ’60s.

Katie Ellen, Jack, Bethlehem Steel, Fits @ Shea Stadium
Katie Ellen is the current band of former Chumped singer Anika Pyle and drummer Dan Frelly. They’re about to go on a tour with Jeff Rosenstock, but first play this cool gig.

Bambara, Tiers, Second Still, Decorum @ Aviv
For those with a goth bent, this show may be for you: Bambara like it dark and loud (not unlike, say, The Birthday Party); duo Tiers are all icy synths; LA band Second Still recall Cocteau Twins and Chameleons, and openers Decorum keep things slinky with a two-bass-and-drums attack.

UB40, The Wailers @ Terminal 5
Before “Red Red Wine” turned them into a covers act, UB40 made superior, socially conscious reggae. Tonight they play with the current incarnation of The Wailers.

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.

Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally @ Beacon Theatre
In love and laughs, real life couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally bring their variety show “Summer of 69: No Apostrophe” to NYC.
