What's going on Tuesday?

The Mummies
The Mummies

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Mummies, Dirty Fences @ Music Hall of Williamsburg (two shows)
Garage rock cult heroes and once and future kings of budget rock, The Mummies crawl out of their tombs for their first NYC shows in some time.

Steely Dan with Rickie Lee Jones @ Beacon Theatre
Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are more than halfway through their 10-show run at Beacon Theatre, which are a mix of album-themed shows and, like tonight, ones with Rickie Lee Jones.

Sia, Miguel, AlunaGeorge @ Barclays Center

This is a pretty cool triple bill, with Sia, whose live shows are quite the spectacle, Miguel, whose psychedelic R&B is always a treat to hear, and AlunaGeorge, whose alt-pop is in pretty good shape on this year’s I Remember.

Sampha, Kelsey Lu @ Baby’s All Right
Sampha first caught ears by working closely with SBTRKT, but now his own material has been taking off too and he’s gone on to work with huge names like Kanye, Drake, and Frank Ocean. Tonight’s his first of two sold-out NYC shows this week.

Henry Rollins (spoken word) @ Gramercy Theatre
“On this tour, fans can expect Henry to mix timely commentary on the current state of politics with anecdotes on his latest L.A. experiences, to perspective gained from his extensive world travels.”

Local Natives, Charlotte Day Wilson @ Terminal 5
Local Natives’ new music isn’t quite as interesting as their debut album was, but they remain popular. Tonight’s their first of two shows at the big Terminal 5 with Charlotte Day Wilson, who was on the Badbadnotgood album earlier this year.

Nicole Atkins w/ Wolf! @ Le Poisson Rouge
Nicole Atkins is working on a new album with the same ex-White Denim members that Leon Bridges made his album with last year. She’s playing a few shows this month backed by WOLF! — aka Scott Metzger (Trixie Whitley, Anders Osborne, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead), Jon Shaw (who just toured in Bob Weir’s band), and Taylor Floreth.

Dave Chappelle @ The Cutting Room
The always-hilarious Dave Chappelle is doing another of his runs of intimate shows at the Cutting Room. It’s a three-night run, and this is night three. And remember, no cell phones allowed inside venue.

Mike Doughty @ Rough Trade
The former Soul Coughing frontman just released his new solo album, The Heart Watches While the Brain Burns, and celebrates tonight with this free show and signing.

WOMANPRODUCER w/ Zola Jesus, Neko Case, Suzi Analogue, Miho Hatori (of Cibo Matto) @ National Sawdust
This is the final of The Blow’s “WOMANPRODUCER” events at National Sawdust, a talk between these four very talented artists.

Suzanne Vega @ Joe’s Pub
Suzanne Vega just released Lover, Beloved: Songs From An Evening With Carson McCullers, all songs she wrote for her off-Broadway play about her love for the writer Carson McCullers. This is her first of two consecutive nights at Joe’s Pub.

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
