What's going on Tuesday?

Downtown Boys @ BVSXSW 2016 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Shannon and the Clams, PMS and the Moodswings, Scully @ Baby’s All Right
Shannon & the Clams are about to head into the studio to make their next album and tonight wrap up a three night stand of warm-up shows at Baby’s.

CRX, These People @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi doesn’t stray too far from his main band’s sound on this side project, CRX.

Medeski, Martin & Wood @ Le Poisson Rouge
Chris Wood had to undergo emergency surgery back in October; recovered, MM&W play this makeup show tonight.

6LACK, Leaf, Ravyn Lenae, Twelv’len @ Rough Trade
This is a good bill all around with Atlanta R&B singer 6LACK, rapper (and Lil Yachty collaborator) Leaf, neo-soul singer Ravyn Lenea, and more R&B from Florida’s Twelv’len.

City of Caterpillar, Virginia Creep, Supression, Skulk Kits @ Saint Vitus
Screamo greats City of Caterpillar were only around for a few years in the early ’00s, but they left a major mark on the genre. It’s a sound that’s more popular than ever today, and plenty of modern bands would surely consider their spastic, progressive sound to be an influence. Now they’re reuniting and playing two Saint Vitus shows this week. This is the second.

Todd Rundgren, Jesse Gress, Kasim Sulton, and more! @ The Cutting Room
Todd Rundgren gets back together with fellow Utopians Kevin Ellman and John Siegler for this benefit for Todd’s The Spirit of Harmony Foundation. Sold out.

Ultrabunny (aka Bunnybrains 88), Richard Papiercuts, Final Boss, Video Daughters @ Trans-Pecos
Bridgeport, CT’s noisy cult band Bunnybrains splintered off into Ultrabunny. Tonight they headline a night arty experimentalism, including the odd but compelling Richard Papiercuts.

Downtown Boys, Juicy, Nani Castle @ Union Pool
Downtown Boys’ sax-fueled political punk makes for a very fun time and it’s also got a message that a lot of people need right now. Their records are great, but Downtown Boys are really a band you need to experience live.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
