What's going on Tuesday?

Lemon Twigs @ BVCMJ 2015 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Lemon Twigs, Savoy Motel, Cut Worms
The preternaturally talented Lemon Twigs bring their tour with Nashville’s badass Savoy Motel to NYC for this sold out show. If you’re going, the Everly Brothers-esque Cut Worms makes this a hat trick of a night.

Homeshake, True Blue @ Baby’s All Right (two shows)
Initially known for being “That other band Mac DeMarco was in,” Homeshake have developed a fanbase of their own, having just released the entertaining Fresh Air. Tonight begins an NYC residency with these two sold-out Baby’s shows.

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge’s Psychedelic Birthday Dance Party w/ Special Guests @ Matchless
Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV’s Genesis Breyer P-Orridge celebrates his 66th birthday by spinning records all night with “art and surprises guaranteed to delight the soul and senses.”

Max & Igor Cavalera (playing Sepultura’s Roots), Immolation, Full of Hell @ Gramercy Theatre
While Sepultura remain an active band, the era where brothers Max and Igor Cavalera were both in the band remains their most essential period. The Cavalera brothers are on tour now playing that band’s Roots, the last album to feature Max as a member, in full. It’s a great bill all around, with death metal vets Immolation (who have a new album out this week) and young grinders Full of Hell.

Darkest Hour, Rotten Sound, Rivers of Nihil, Withered, Immortal Bird @ Saint Vitus
Darkest Hour first broke during the early ’00s metalcore boom, but they’re now taking a slightly different route. They’re signed to Southern Lord, their upcoming album was produced by Kurt Ballou, and they’re touring with some pretty amazing bands.

Naomi Punk, PC Worship, Maria Chavez @ The Park Chuch Co-Op
Olympia/Seattle band Naomi Punk take some influence from the grungy sounds that came out of their hometown in the ’80s and ’90s, and they keep things on the weird, raw side. Tonight they’re in NYC with support from local noise rock staples (and fellow friends of Parquet Courts) PC Worship.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
