What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

LCD Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Steel
It’s the final show of LCD Soundsystem’s five-night run which has doubled as an opening celebration for Brooklyn Steel. Setlists haven’t varied too much at the previous shows, but they’ve been playing most of the hits, and three new songs a night.

Trans Am, Eaters @ Saint Vitus Bar
With promised new music on the way soon, post rock vets Trans-Am are stopping in Brooklyn before heading to Europe. Tonight they’re well matched with local electronic duo Eaters.

Sunwatchers, Talibam!, “Colin Langenus Play Billy Joel,” Sahba Sizdahkhani @ Union Pool
Hard-hitting psych combo Sunwatchers (Peter Kerlin of Chris Forsyth’s Solar Motel Band, Jim McHugh and Jason Robira of NYMPH, and Jeff Tobias) kick off their three show residency at Union Pool tonight with a host of out-there openers.

Xiu Xiu, The Use, Rachel Mason @ WFMU Monty Hall
Having released an album of covers of Twin Peaks soundtrack music and the worthy new LP FORGET, adventurous pop act Xiu Xiu have been busy in the last year.

Big Sean, MadeinTYO, Neisha Ne’shae, DJ Mo Beatz @ Radio City
Big Sean is often really silly but he can be genuinely awesome when he needs to be. “IDFWU” and “Blessings” from 2015’s Dark Sky Paradise are (still) real-deal bangers. This year he returned with the followup to that album, I Decided.

Princess Nokia, UNIIQU3 @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Talented New York rapper Princess Nokia has been a staple of the local live scene for a while now, and she gets bigger and bigger. This show is sold out.

The Octopus Project, Brothertiger @ Mercury Lounge
Long-running Austin avant-pop band The Octopus Project are back with a new album, Memory Mirror, which was made with Flaming Lips collaborator Dave Fridmann, as well as Danny Reisch (who’s also worked with Shearwater on a few albums).

Cory Branan, Jared Hart, Brett Saxon
Cory Branan is a punk-minded folk singer who’s collaborated with Jason Isbell, Craig Finn, Lucero, and more. He’s on tour now with The Scandals frontman Jared Hart.
