Julien Baker
Julien Baker in New Haven on Saturday (more by Sachyn Mital)

What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Decemberists, Julien Baker @ Brooklyn Steel
The Decemberists aren’t supporting a new album at the moment, but that’s just fine because recent setlists have been pulling from all over their great discography (they’ve been bringing back “The Tain”!). They’re currently on tour with recent Matador signee Julien Baker, whose music should appeal to anyone going to these shows. This is the second of a three-night run at Brooklyn Steel.

Falls Of Rauros, Obsidian Tongue, Luminous Vault, Reg Bloor @ Saint Vitus
Maine black metal band Falls of Rauros recently returned with Vigilance Perennial, a grand, majestic-sounding album and one of the band’s best yet. Good openers tonight too.

Frank Iero and The Patience, Dave Hause @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero is now a very active solo artist, and he’s touring all year with his backing band The Patience. Opening is Loved Ones frontman Dave Hause, who recently released the solo album Bury Me In Philly.

Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids), Dan Andriano (of Alkaline Trio) @ The Wonder Bar
The Frank Iero show isn’t your only chance to see solo sets from punk/emo musicians tonight. The Matt Pryor/Dan Andriano tour lands in Asbury Park tonight, and hits Brooklyn later this week.

Punk Rock Karaoke w/ Stan Lee (The Dickies), Steve Soto (The Adolescents, Agent Orange), Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, The Circle Jerks), Darrin Pfeiffer (Goldfinger) @ Bowery Electric
This all-star punk lineup comes together once again for some live-band karaoke.

Josh Ritter @ City Winery
Josh Ritter had to postpone some shows earlier this year due to doctor’s orders, and the first of the two rescheduled shows happen tonight.

Sunwatchers, Glockabelle, Deadbeat Beat @ Union Pool
Hard-hitting psych combo Sunwatchers (Peter Kerlin of Chris Forsyth’s Solar Motel Band, Jim McHugh and Jason Robira of NYMPH, and Jeff Tobias) continue their three show residency at Union Pool.

Barry Manilow, Vanessa Williams, Caroline Rhea @ Town Hall
A musician who hailed from Williamsburg long before Grizzly Bear or TV on the Radio, and one who’s been in the news all month for coming out as gay after all these years, Barry Manilow performs as part of this multi-entertainer “Concert for America” benefit with proceeds going toward national organizations dedicated to protecting the environment, women’s health and civil rights.
