You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

LCD Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Steel
By the end of 2017, LCD Soundsystem will have released new album American Dream and played a whopping 22 nights at Brooklyn Steel. This is show #9.

Battles, Protomartyr @ House of Vans
The always-eccentric, shape-shifting Battles are opening Interpol’s Turn on the Bright Lights shows in NYC and LA this year, but first playing some warmup shows. This free-with-RSVP Brooklyn show has excellent support from the dry, cynical, witty post-punks Protomartyr (who have been playing new songs from their unannounced fourth album).

This Is The Kit, Tica Douglas @ Baby’s All Right
British folk musician Kate Stables’ band This Is The Kit are releasing their first album for Rough Trade in July. Like their 2008 debut, it was produced by PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish, and it also features The National’s Aaron Dessner (who produced their 2015 album) on several songs.

Chastity Belt, Sneaks, Cotillon @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Seattle’s jangly, drony Chastity Belt just released new album I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone which is a nice continuation of 2015’s terrific Time to Go Home.

Dr. Danny, the Michael D’Addario Trio @ Pianos
When not playing keyboards in The Lemon Twigs, keyboardist Danny Ayala makes similarly psychedelic pop as Dr. Danny. His Twigs bandmakes Michael and Brian D’Addario open the show with a set of covers.

Portugal. The Man @ Rough Trade
Having just played two massive Terminal 5 shows, Portugal. The Man returns to NYC for a WAY smaller show tonight. It’s a release party for their new album Woodstock, which you had to purchase to gain entry to this show.

She Keeps Bees, The Heavy Howl, Bel Aviv @ Rough Trade
Grungry indie rockers She Keeps Bees are releasing a charity 7″ in July which benefits Planned Parenthood and EarthJustice. Tonight they’ll perhaps play the new songs live.

David J, Paul Wallfisch, Bambara, Twin Guns @ The Bowery Electric
David J was in Bauhaus, Love & Rockets, and The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy, and has also released a string of semi-acoustic solo records as well. Expect selections from David J’s entire oeuvre tonight.

Hess Is More @ Nublu
Mikkel Hess is a massively talented guy, who makes complex taut, jazzy dance music with a krauty disco backbone. Didn’t get tickets to LCD? Go see Hess is More.

Home Blitz, Honey Radar, Rays, Rat Columns @ ALPHAVILLE
For fans of low-fi guitar pop influenced by Flying Nun, this is a pretty killer show, including Oakland, CA’s Rays who just released an album via Trouble in Mind. Also on the bill: Rat Columns (aka David West of Total Control), Philly’s Honey Radar, and underrated Brooklynlites Home Blitz.

Flynt Flossy, Turquoise Jeep, ENI @ Brooklyn Bowl
Old YouTube sensation pals Flynt Flossy and Turquoise Jeep team up again for a night of their tongue-in-cheek rap at Brooklyn Bowl.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog has been bringing comedy to NYC via SWEET for 10 years. His lineups are always great and The Slipper Room is a great little place to see it.
