You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Sturgill Simpson @ Rough Trade
Sturgill celebrates the release of his new album, A Sailor’s Guide to Earth, with this very intimate show. Sold out.

Adam Green, Beau @ Baby’s All Right
Adam Green just released a really weird movie musical adaptation of Aladdin and celebrates the release of the soundtrack tonight. Who knows what to expect?

TEEN, Marigolds, Goldchild, Von Sell @ Good Room
Tonight’s the AudioFemme Anniversary party, headlined by Brooklyn’s own TEEN,with all proceeds going to Women for Women International.

Air Waves, Stephen Steinbrink, Ajnabi, Fraternal Twin @ Palisades
Brooklyn’s minimal, strummy Air Waves headline this show that also features Pacific Northwest talent Stephen Steinbrink.

The Mountain Goats, William Tyler @ City Winery
The consistently great Mountain Goats returned last year with the very solid Beat The Champ. Tonight they wrap up a sold-out three-night run at City Winery with guitar master William Tyler.

Slum Village, Black Milk, Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Blaq RoyalT @ Highline Ballroom
Slum Village, the Detroit rap group that once included the late J Dilla, are on the road with fellow hip hop greats Black Milk and Guilty Simpson, who played together in Random Axe with the late Sean Price. There’s also Phat Kat, who’s worked with both Dilla and Black Milk a lot, and a set by Slum Village’s Young RJ under his Blaq RoyalT moniker.

Rich The Kid, Dutch Capital, Famous Dex @ SOB’s
Atlanta rapper Rich The Kid has been on the rise lately, and he recently was recording with Frank Ocean (though we haven’t heard that yet). Tonight he plays a Hot 97 ‘Who’s Next’ show at SOB’s.

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
