You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Paul McCartney @ Barclays Center
Paul McCartney is in the middle of EIGHT NYC-area shows. This is his first night at Barclays Center. So far, he brought out Bruce Springsteen at one of his shows.

The War on Drugs, Craig Finn and the Uptown Controllers @ Terminal 5
Heartland indie rockers The War On Drugs recently released their major label debut, A Deeper Understanding, which takes their sound into bigger-sounding territory than ever. Tonight’s their first of two NYC shows, which both have different great openers. This one’s with Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn, whose solo music also pulls from ’80s heartland rock.

The Besnard Lakes @ Baby’s All Right
It’s a double dose of Montreal indie rock tonight at Baby’s. The early show is The Besnard Lakes celebrating the 10th anniversary of their great album Are the Dark Horse by playing it in full. The album includes their ode to weird Williamsburg, “On Bedford and Grand.” Early show, 7:30 PM.

Land of Talk @ Baby’s All Right
Right after that it’s an intimate show for Land of Talk, whose great new album was coproduced by Besnard Lakes main man Jace Lasek (who also, along with his wife and bandmate Olga Goreas, sometimes play in Land of Talk…maybe tonight?). 10:30 PM doors.

Suzanne Vega @ City Winery
College radio and ’80s/’90s alt rock mainstay Suzanne Vega will be playing two of her most popular albums — Solitude Standing & 99.9F — in full tonight.

Sarah Bernstein / Kid Millions (of Oneida), Brandon Lopez / Nate Wooley, Elliott Sharp / Matteo Liberatore / Weasel Walter @ H0L0
An insane amount of talent, including some interesting collaborations between experimental/improvisational folks, are on the bill for this showt.

Front 242, Severed Heads @ Irving Plaza
One of the iconic industrial/EBM acts of the late’80s and early-’90s, Front 242 helped craft a sound — clanking, smashing beats, stabby synths, growled vocals — that has influenced everyone from Nine Inch Nails to LCD Soundsystem. They play tonight with Australian compatriots Severed Heads.

Alison Krauss, David Gray @ Radio City Music Hall
Bluegrass and country vet Alison Krauss and folk rock star David Gray don’t seem like artists you’d find on tour together but here we are.

The Horrors, Weeping Icon @ Rough Trade
This week The Horrors release new LP V, and sound more engaged than they have since Primary Colours, drawing from Pink Floyd and Dance Music. They celebrate with this second of two release shows. Weeping Icon are worth showing up early for.

Eugene Mirman, Jon Glaser, Mike Birbiglia, Aparna Nancherla @ The Bell House
The 10th edition of the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival is also supposedly the last one, and tonight’s the final night. Is it really the end? This shows wonders the same thing, titled “This Is Probably The Last Show Of Our Last Festival, But Who Knows, The Eagles Got Back Together And I Only Moved To Massachusetts.” One thing’s for sure: this is sold out.

The Killers @ Brooklyn Steel
The Killers are releasing their new album Wonderful Wonderful this week. Their 2018 tour behind the album includes huge NYC shows at MSG and Barclays Center, but first they play two much smaller shows here this week, Brooklyn Steel tonight and Terminal 5 on Friday. They also perform at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on Saturday.

Obituary, Exodus, Power Trip, Dust Bolt @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
This bill offers a double dose of legendary metal bands, death metallers Obituary and thrashers Obituary. Making it even better is one of today’s best modern thrash bands, Power Trip.

Joyner Lucas @ Union Pool
Worcester, MA’s Joyner Lucas raps about some pretty powerful stuff on this year’s major label debut, 508-507-2209. This is first of two NYC shows on his current tour, and this one’s free with RSVP.
