What’s going on Tuesday?

This Will Destroy You at Warsaw
This Will Destroy You at Warsaw in March (more by Toby Tenenbaum)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

This Will Destroy You, Sannhet @ Knitting Factory (BV Presents)
NYC venue Knitting Factory turns 30 this year and it’s celebrating with a week of anniversary shows. BrooklynVegan is proudly presenting this one, a double bill with two of the finest post-rock bands around.

Dead & Company @ Madison Square Garden
Grateful Dead offshoot Dead & Company includes classic-lineup members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann (plus John Mayer and others), and they’re always known for sticking to the fan favorites at their shows. This is their second of two MSG shows on this tour.

Iron and Wine, OHMME @ Brooklyn Steel
Iron & Wine is back on Sub Pop for the first time since 2007’s The Shepherd’s Dog and his new album Beast Epic is his first album in his stripped-down, bare-bones folk style since his Sub Pop days too.

Avey Tare, Doug Shaw @ Elsewhere
Animal Collective’s Avey Tare has a new solo album out this year and he also sings on the new album by the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, which came out last week. (That also means, with the Dead & Co show at MSG tonight, that Mickey and Avey both play NYC the same night.)

John Moreland, Brad Armstrong @ Rough Trade
After opening for Iron & Wine last night, 4AD-signed country singer John Moreland plays his own smaller NYC show tonight.

No Age, The Drunken Foreigner Band, Beat Detectives @ Elsewhere
After a few records on Sub Pop, Los Angeles noise-punk duo No Age will release their new album, Snares Like a Haircut, via Drag City in January. Get a taste tonight and PopGun’s brand new Bushwick venue.

Nilüfer Yanya, Xhosa @ Mercury Lounge
Nilüfer Yanya makes jazzy pop with slice-of-life lyrics (and an accent) that tips her London hometown. Comparisons to King Krule could be made, but this is sunnier music that you could imagine being used in the Big Little Lies soundtrack, and it also recalls ’80s back-to-jazz acts like Everything But the Girl (or with a little more polish, Sade).

Culture Club @ The Paramount
Boy George and crew are back again with their bucketload of ’80s hits in tow.

Rodrigo y Gabriela, Marc Scibilia @ Count Basie Theatre
Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have spent most of 2017 celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, but they’ve also been playing some new songs too as a tease for things to come.

Springsteen on Broadway
It’s the hottest ticket on Broadway: Bruce Springsteen playing solo at the intimate Walter Kerr Theatre, performing some of his biggest hits and telling stories about them. His show runs through February.
