What's going on Tuesday?

Heems w/ Iwano @ Brooklyn Bazaar (more by Sachyn MItal)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Bob Dylan, Mavis Staples @ Beacon Theatre
Bob Dylan is on tour supporting his latest covers album and of course playing the classics too. This is night two of a five-night run at Beacon Theatre, a much more intimate venue than his most recent NYC-area show at Nassau Coliseum. Opening is Mavis Staples, whose powerful new album If All I Was Was Black came out on Friday.

Dipset, A$AP Mob, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Don Q @ Hammerstein Ballroom
Having just released the new song “Once Upon A Time,” beloved Harlem rap crew Dipset (Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey) are playing their first show in two years tonight. It’s a great bill all around, with newer beloved Harlem rap crew A$AP Mob, fast-rising Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and A Boogie’s Bronx neighbor Don Q.

Heems, Nadia Tehran @ Elsewhere
Heems has been enjoying some increased popularity thanks to his group Swet Shop Boys, but his solo material is still killer too and you can see him play that stuff tonight.

Acoustic Hot Tuna @ City Winery
Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady’s long-running blues rock band Hot Tuna are in acoustic mode for a few City Winery shows this month. All are sold out.

Dr. Danny, Ronnie D’Addario, Michael D’Addario Trio, The Show is the Rainbow @ The Bowery Electric
It’s a whole night of Lemon Twigs-related acts. Dr. Danny (aka Twigs keyboardist Danny Ayala) but the night also includes Ronnie D’Addario backed by his sons and main Twigs Michael and Brian, plus a set from The Michael D’Addario Trio (expect lots of covers).

Jonathan Richman (w/ Tommy Larkins), Xylouris White @ The Kitchen
Part of The Kitchen’s fall season, JoJo will be playing five nights with longtime drummer/compatriot Tommy Larkins. Duo Xylouris White open all five and this is Night 4.

“Dark Spots” with Janeane Garofalo, Jo Firestone, Casey James And The Staypuft Kid, Casey James Salegno, Dina Hashem, Mehran Khaghani, Jess Salomon, Shane Torres @ Union Hall
“Dark. Sad. Traumatic. COMEDY. Hosted by Shane Torres (Comedy Central’s The Half Hour), Nate Fridson (AST Records) and Alison Zeidman (Adam Ruins Everything), Dark Spots is a stand-up comedy showcase where comedians tell jokes that’ll make you cry so hard you laugh.”

Bleachers, Bishop Briggs, Amy Shark @ Brooklyn Steel
In addition to working on the St. Vincent, Taylor Swift, and Lorde albums this year, Jack Antonoff released a new album with his band Bleachers, Gone Now. This is Bleachers’ second NYC show this week.

Springsteen on Broadway
It’s the hottest ticket on Broadway: Bruce Springsteen playing solo at the intimate Walter Kerr Theatre, performing some of his biggest hits and telling stories about them. His show runs through February.

Marshall Crenshaw @ City Vineyard
Part of City Vineyard’s cozy “Voices on the Hudson” series, catch acclaimed singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw (whose hits include “Whenever You’re On My Mind” and  “Someday Some Way”) at this show limited to 100 tickets.
