What’s going on Tuesday?
You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…
Jose James @ The Blue Note
Neo-soul great Jose James is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his 2008 debut album The Dreamer with a residency at the Blue Note, with two shows a night through February 8. This is night three.
A Benefit For Creative Music Studio, ft. John Medeski, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell, Billy Martin, John Scofield, Steven Bernstein, Peter Apfelbaum, Tony Sherr and more @ Le Poisson Rouge

U.S. Girls listening party
U.S. Girls‘ great new album, In a Poem Unlimited, is out next week via 4AD and if you’re in NYC you can get a chance to check it out early with an intimate, very unique listening event hosted by the group’s chief member, Meg Remy. While details are being kept hush hush, we’re told these will not be just the record being played in a room but will be very much in the confrontational style of U.S. Girls’ new album. There will be three hourlong events from noon – 4 PM. RSVP is closed.
Glasser, L’Rain, DJ Bunny JR @ Union Pool
It’s been a while since Glasser released a new album but things appear to be stirring in her world. Every Tuesday in February, she’ll be performing new music with hand-selected guests. Tonight’s the first.
Purr, Brian D’Addario (of The Lemon Twigs), Brian Merrill @ Baby’s All Right
Purr, aka the current project from Eliza Callahan and Jack Staffe (who used to be known as Jack & Eliza), begin a three-show Tuesday residency at Baby’s All Right tonight. Opening is a solo set from Brian of The Lemon Twigs. This is a free show.
Kat Edmonson @ City Vineyard
Kat Edmonson plays tonight’s installment of City Vineyard’s very intimate “Voices on the Hudson” series. Only 100 seats available.
