What's going on Wednesday?

Twin Peaks in Chicago, 2015
Twin Peaks in Chicago, 2015 (more by James Richards IV)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Cyndi Lauper, Boy George @ Beacon Theater
Holy, 1985! Two music/style icons of the Reagan era will share the stage tonight. We’re hoping for a “Time After Time (Clock of the Heart)” collaboration.

T.I. @ Irving Plaza
T.I.’s been one of the more consistently great southern rappers over the past 15 years, with at least a few certifiable classics under his belt. He’s planning to release a new album this year, and just recently dropped a Dr. Dre-produced single from that.

Twin Peaks, Ne-Hi, Jimmy Whispers @ Bowery Ballroom
Twin Peaks celebrate the release of their very enjoyable new album Down in Heaven with fellow Chicagoans Ne-Hi, their second NYC show of the week.

Flatbush Zombies, A$AP Twelvy, Remy Banks @ Webster Hall
NYC rap trio Flatbush Zombies have been kicking around the local scene for a few years, putting on wild live shows and dropping a handful of solid mixtapes and singles. Earlier this year, they released their first proper album, 3001: A Laced Odyssey. This is their second of two sold-out hometown shows.

The Everymen, Overlake, Rock n Roll Hi Fives @ Rough Trade
New Jersey punk partiers The Everymen will preview songs tonight from their soon-to-be-released album, These Mad Dogs Need Heroes. Fellow NJ duo Overlake are worth checking out too.

Palehound, Ursula, Weed Hounds @ Baby’s All Right
Palehound have a sound that pulls from traditional indie rock, folk, math rock and more; and singer Ellen Kempner’s strong voice makes them memorable.

Tiny Hazard, Half Waif, Twist, Jobs @ Palisades
Half Waif have an art pop sound that fans of Julia Holter, My Brightest Diamond, Sufjan Stevens and more would probably like. They recently released their second album, Probable Depths.

Mike Birbiglia @ The Lynn Redgrave Theater
Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been doing his show “Thank God for the Jokes” for nearly two years. He’s putting it to bed, but not before this run which runs through the end of this month.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
