Mint Field

What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Mint Field, No Swoon @ Baby’s All Right
Mexican duo Mint Field make superior shoegaze-y indie rock as heard on this year’s Pasar de la Luces. They’ll be on tour with Ulrika Spacek later this year.

Bill Frisell, Ikue Mori @ National Sawdust
John Zorn is presenting this show featuring guitarist extraordinaire Bill Frisell and downtown vet Ikue Mori of DNA notoriety. Together they will create an “all-original sonic landscape built from their distinct individual voices.”

Future Punx, GRLwood, Shybaby @ Trans-Pecos
Louisville, KY’s GRLwood highlight this bill headlined by the very fun Brooklyn nu-wavers Future Punx.

Chris Isaak @ The Paramount
Though best known for his oft-covered hit “Wicked Game,” Chris Isaak’s had a long, varied, and cool career that included acting in David Lynch and Jonathan Demme films. His croon still swoons, too.

Springsteen On Broadway
The Boss continues his sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through December. At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”

Glenn Hughes (performing “Classic Deep Purple Live”) @ Sony Hall
Glenn Hughes was bassist and co-frontman of Deep Purple on Burn, Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band (along with David Coverdale), and his voice is no small part of what made Burn in particular such a classic album. As recent live videos prove, he’s still got it today, and he’ll be playing his former band’s classics at this show.

The Plimsouls, The Sweet Things, The Jellybricks @ The Bowery Electric
While this lineup of The Plimsouls does not feature founding member, singer and songwriter Peter Case, it does include guitarist Eddie Munoz. You’re still bound to get “Million Miles Away.”

Mint’s Hints  @ Littlefield
A kids TV host and her dog go on an adventure searching for a lost cat…if Mint’s Hints sounds a lot like a beloved PBS show, well it’s probably intentional, but expect something darker and weirder as it features Jo Firestone and Joe Pera.

Jenny’s Birthday Variety Show @ Union Hall
Jenny Gorelick (Improv Everywhere) hosts this monthly birthday party for herself, featuring co-host Addie Weyrich (Adult Swim) and a rotating group of local comedians. This month’s show features Mary Kate Doherty (MTV), Sam Taggart (IFC), Clare O’Kane (Viceland), and Community Dance Corps.
