You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Ezra Collective, Yazmin Lacey, Emma-Jean Thackray’s Walrus, Tawiah, hosted by Gilles Peterson @ Le Poisson Rouge (Winter Jazzfest)
Tonight, LPR hosts Winter Jazzfest’s second annual UK jazz showcase (presented by PRS Foundation & BBC Music). Your host is legendary DJ Gilles Peterson (who put together a must-have compilation of UK jazz last year), and the headliners are one of the UK’s biggest current crossover groups, Ezra Collective (who are on that compilation).

Medeski, Martin & Wood, Alarm Will Sound @ Brooklyn Steel (Winter JazzFest)
Also as part of Winter Jazzfest, jazz-funk trio Medeski, Martin & Wood performs with the great contemporary chamber orchestra Alarm Will Sound.

Madison McFerrin @ C’mon Everybody
A cappella singer Madison McFerrin (daughter of a cappella legend Bobby McFerrin) is on the rise having released the promising Finding Foundations: Vol II last year. That EP includes a song recorded live at C’mon Everybody, where Madison does a residency this month. She plays there every Wednesday.

Jesse Malin (playing The Fine Art of Self Destruction), Mark Seliger & Rusty Truck, Revel In Dimes, more @ Coney Island Baby
NYC punk vet Jesse Malin is doing a residency at his club Coney Island Baby this month. He’s doing different albums in full each night, and tonight’s will have him playing his Ryan Adams-produced 2002 solo debut The Fine Art of Self Destruction.

Tallies @ Rough Trade
Toronto band Tallies, who sound a little like The Sundays or “Linger”-era Cranberries, celebrate the release of their debut album with this free show. 7 PM.

Leverage Models, Jennifer Vanilla, Rafiq Bhatia, Craig Weinrib, NOIA @ Baby’s All Right
Brooklyn art pop band Leverage Models just released Whites, their first album in five years. (Check it out here.) Tonight’s release party is also a benefit for Southern Poverty Law Center.

Geotic, Lord Raja, DOV @ Elsewhere
Will Wiesenfeld, who you may know as Baths, also makes effervescent, gentle synthpop as Geotic.
