What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Teenage Fanclub, The Love Language @ Bowery Ballroom
We’ll admit Teenage Fanclub will never be the same without Gerry Love, who wrote some of our favorite songs, but Norman and Raymond wrote lots of good ones, too, and it is cool they got Euros Childs from Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci to join the band for this tour. Tonight’s sold out but you can still get tickets to the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday.

Fleetwood Mac @ Prudential Center
It’s also not the same Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham, but Neil Finn and Mike Campbell are not bad shoe-fillers, and there’s just no denying the hits. They’ll head to MSG on Monday.

Laurie Anderson presents “Lou Reed Drones” @ The Cathedral of St. John the Divine
“Laurie Anderson presents an incredible drone-based sonic experience utilizing a number of historic guitars from her late husband Lou Reed’s collection. This installation, curated by Reed’s former guitar technician Stewart Hurwood, places the instruments in an arrangement against a group of amplifiers so that their tuned feedback creates an enveloping drone of harmonics that shifts and changes depending on the audience’s location within the space of the Cathedral. Further, the Cathedral’s natural 8-second echo will add immeasurably to the profound Doppler effect the audience experiences as they move around the space.” 6:30 PM – 11 PM, RSVP here.

Molly Nilsson, Patience, Foxes in Fiction @ Elsewhere
Sweden’s Molly Nilsson makes icy electo with a beating heart, tonight’s show features the NYC debut of Patience, aka Veronica Falls’ Roxanne Clifford’s solo synthpop project.

Meek Mill, Lil Durk, Kash Doll, Melii @ Hammerstein Ballroom
Meek Mill has gone through some highly publicized tough times, but luckily he came out on top and he’s still riding high off the strength of his fired-up 2018 album Championships. His tour behind that album hits NYC tonight for his second of two shows this week. Good openers too.

Daughters, BIG|BRAVE, Container @ Warsaw
Noise rock greats Daughters returned last year with their reunion album You Won’t Get What You Want and it wasn’t just a good comeback but possibly their best album yet. They’re back on the road in support of it and tonight’s show has two cool openers: post-rockers BIG|BRAVE and noise/electronics artist Container.

Dave Hill @ Q.E.D.
Dave Hill’s show “You Had to Be There” is now officially a podcast and this will be a taping. Here’s the log line: “Comedian Dave Hill gives his first person account of different periods throughout history while Jim Biederman and Jodi Lennon call bullshit on most of what he’s saying.”
