What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Ty Segall (& Freedom Band performing Melted), White Fence @ Bowery Ballroom
Ty Segall’s five night NYC residency continues tonight — he and the Freedom Band will play their new, guitar-less album First Taste, and then they’ll perform Melted. White Fence, with whom Ty made two albums, open.

DMBQ, Sunwatchers @ Union Pool
Japan’s DMBQ (aka Dynamite Masters Blues Quartet) are one of a kind, and have been making wigged-out, heavy psychedelic rock for nearly 30 years. They’re in town opening a few of Ty Segall’s shows this week, but are playing this headline show while here.

Ladytron, Lou Rebecca @ Brooklyn Steel
Icy synthpop quartet Ladytron returned this year with their first album in seven years and best since Witching Hour. Tonight’s the first date of their East Coast tour.

Georgia @ Elsewhere
Drummer, producer and electronic artist Georgia will release her new album in January via Domino and she’ll offer an early preview tonight (plus songs from her 2015 debut).

Electric Six, Naughty Clouds @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Tongue-in-cheek Detroit band Electric Six have been mixing double entendres with big riffs for nearly 20 years now and remain a high voltage live band.

Team Dresch, Des Ark, Teenage Halloween @ (le) poisson rouge
Queercore vets Team Dresch are more active than they’ve been in a while, and they’re fresh off releasing a new two-song single — their first new music in 19 years — which finds their sound in fine form. They’re now touring the East Coast with Des Ark, who’s back from a three-year hiatus, hitting NYC tonight.

Built To Spill, Prism, Prism Bitch, Love as Laughter @ Webster Hall
Built to Spill’s classic LP Keep It Like a Secret remains one of ’90s indie rock’s crowning achievements, from “The Plan” through “Broken Chairs.” They’ll play the whole thing, along with other songs from their catalog, as part of their four-show NYC run.

Maggie Rogers, Empress Of @ Radio City Music Hall
Alt-pop singer Maggie Rogers continues to get huge, and she’s got a pretty cool opener along for the ride on this tour: art pop great Empress Of. This is their second of two consecutive Radio City shows.

Madonna @ BAM: Brooklyn Academy of Music
Madonna’s Madame X tour continues its 17-show run at BAM, which are some of the most intimate shows of her career. The show is heavy on her new album but it’s a rare chance to get up close and personal with Madge.

The Menzingers (live acoustic + signing) @ Rough Trade
Philly/Scranton punks The Menzingers are about to release their new album Hello, Exile, which finds their lyrical heartland punk in fine form. They have a proper tour coming up later this year but first they’re in NYC for an acoustic in-store/signing tonight.

GWAR, Sacred Reich, Toxic Holocaust, Against The Grain @ Starland Ballroom
You probably know exactly what kind of bloody mess to expect from a GWAR show, and they still deliver exactly the kind of spectacle you’d hope for. Making this tour even more exciting is back-in-action thrash vets Sacred Reich (who just released their first album since the ‘90s) and Toxic Holocaust (whose anticipated new album comes out this week).
