What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Radiohead, Dawn of Midi @ Madison Square Garden
Radiohead’s new album A Moon Shaped Pool is yet another winner from this band, who seems to only know how to make winners. They’re of course an excellent live band, and this week’s two-night stand at MSG should be a good one. This is night 2.

Bryan Ferry @ Beacon Theater
The epitome of suave cool, Bryan Ferry returns to NYC to play a mix of solo and Roxy songs, plus probably a few covers too.

Mitski, Japanese Breakfast, Jay Som @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Mitski’s new album Puberty 2 is one of the standout indie rock albums of 2016 so far, and tonight she plays her second of two sold-out NYC shows on her tour in support of it. Both openers are great: Japanese Breakfast who recently signed to Dead Oceans (which Mitski is also signed to), and Jay Som who recently signed to Polyvinyl.

The Besnard Lakes, The Vandelles @ Mercury Lounge
The last time Montreal’s Besnard Lakes were in town, they ended up being the only high profile band to actually play the day of Winter Storm Jonas. Snow drifts shouldn’t be an issue at either of the band’s two NYC shows this week (Rough Trade tomorrow).

Joey Bada$$, Nyck Caution @ Highline Ballroom
Joey Bada$$ has been exploring his acting side lately, with a pretty prominent role in the current season of Mr. Robot. Tonight he’ll be back in his ’90s-inspired rap mode for a show with his Pro Era partner Nyck Caution.

Garbage, Kristin Kontrol @ Starland Ballroom
Garbage’s new album Strange Little Birds may very well be the band’s best since the ’90s. Tonight they play NJ ahead of their Central Park show. Kristin Kontrol, the new ’80s pop-inspired project of Dum Dum Girls singer Dee Dee, opens.

Sinkane @ Brookfield Place Plaza
The Summer Sessions series at Brookfield Place welcomes DFA recording artist Sinkane who incorporates a wide variety of influences into his sound. Free.

Femi Kuti (and The Positive Force), SubAtomic Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Bowl
Following last weekend’s big show in Prospect Park, African music force (and son of Fela) Femi Kuti plays Brooklyn Bowl tonight.

Lafawndah, Ian Isiah, Evy Jane @ Union Pool
Recent Warp signee Lawfawndah makes electronic art pop that’s in the same general world as FKA twigs or James Blake. Tonight’s openers are worth checking out too.

Odonis Odonis @ Home Sweet Home
Toronto’s Odonis Odonis make gothy, industrial/EBM-inspired rock as heard on their new album, Post Plague.

AFROPUNK’s Girrrl Riot: Alice Smith, Sate, The Veevees @ Lincoln Center/Damrosch Park Bandshell
The Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival continues with an Afropunk-presented show.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
