Mavi

What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Mavi, Maxo, Medhane @ Baby’s All Right
This is an awesome underground rap show all around with Mavi (who released one of our favorite rap albums of 2019 and contributed to the new Earl Sweatshirt album), Maxo (who we named one of 10 new-ish rappers defining 2019 earlier last year), and Medhane (who’s also great and also an Earl Sweatshirt collaborator and released the very good Own Pace last year).

Wale @ Brooklyn Steel
Seinfeld-loving rapper Wale is still going strong, and he’s now on the road supporting last year’s Wow… That’s Crazy.

Hamilton Leithauser (of The Walkmen) @ Café Carlyle
Hamilton Leithauser continues of his January residency at swanky supper club Cafe Carlyle tonight. This is one show where Hamilton will definitely not be the only person dressed up: “Chic attire. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets.”

Thick, Gymshorts, Dropper @ Rough Trade
Brooklyn’s punky Thick just announced their Epitaph debut and you can probably get a sneak preview of some of those songs tonight.

Michael Hurley @ Union Pool
Storied ’60s Greenwich Village scene folk veteran Michael Hurley remains active today, and begins a three-night stand at Union Pool tonight.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
