What's going on Wednesday?

Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath at MSG in February (more by Ross Halfin)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Black Sabbath, Rival Sons @ Jones Beach
The legendary Black Sabbath are saying this is their last tour ever, so that makes this one of the last chances you’ll ever get to see them in the NYC-area. They sounded fantastic at the MSG shows earlier this year. If you’re on the fence, pull the trigger. NJ and CT shows will follow next week.

blink-182, A Day To Remember, All Time Low @ Barclays Center
blink-182 co-frontman Tom Delonge may be sorely missed from the band’s current lineup, but, musically speaking, their new album has put them back in the spotlight more than they’ve been since their prime era.

Saul Williams, Kimberly Nichole @ Marcus Garvey Park
Spoken word artist/rapper/singer Saul Williams returned earlier this year with MartyrLoserKing, which was produced entirely by She Wants Revenge frontman Justin Warfield. Tonight he plays this free SummerStage show.

Baked, Stove, Liam Betson, Solids @ Shea Stadium
Former Titus Andronicus member Liam Betson (fka Liam The Younger) is releasing his new album Austerity Measures this week on Double Double Whammy. Tonight’s the release show, with support from some fuzzy indie rock bands.

Eskimeaux, Fraternal Twin, Paper Bee, Real Life Buildings & more @ Silent Barn
It’s a night of art and music at Silent Barn which doubles as a tour kickoff show for Eskimeaux, the project of Epoch/Frankie Cosmos member Gabrielle Smith.

Living Colour @ City Winery
Living Colour have been breaking down musical and social barriers for about 30 years, still fueled by Vernon Reid’s dazzling fretwork and Corey Glover’s powerful pipes.

Daniel Wohl, GABI, Sam Haar (of Blondes) @ Le Poisson Rouge
Parisian musician and composer blends classical, ambient and downtempo electronics on his new album Holographic. He’ll be performing that album tonight.

The Mystery Lights, Navy Gangs, Breanna Barbara @ Baby’s All Right
Garage rock bands are a dime a dozen but The Mystery Lights more than earn their keep with big hooks, impressive musicianship and a high-energy live show that’s always fun to see. Also on the bill: Omaha’s Navy Gangs and bluesy songwriter Breanna Barbara.

Big Jesus, Dinowalrus, Upright Man @ Berlin
Dinowalrus are one of the few bands in NYC to constantly fly the flag of UK indie cira 1989-1991, where jangly guitars met shuffling dance beats. The band’s new album Fairweather is out in September.
