Nas, Yeasayer, Questlove (DJ Set) @ House of Vans
Vans is celebrating its 50th anniversary with free concerts at various House of Vans locations and tonight is the NYC, a killer bill of great hip hop great Nas, and dancerock act Yeasayer. Free show, but the RSVP is now closed.

Bloc Party @ Irving Plaza
Bloc Party recently released Hymns, their first with new  their new rhythm section (Menomena’s Justin Harris on bass and Louise Bartle on drums), which is their most electronic record yet. Tongiht’s show is presented by Governors Ball.

Tortoise, Mind Over Mirrors, 75 Dollar Bill @ Le Poisson Rouge
Post-rock vets Tortoise came out of their shell for the first time in seven years to release Catastrophist, and they’re in town for their first of two sold-out NYC shows.

Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Children of Bodom, Havok @ Terminal 5
Thrash legends Megadeth are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year with this big tour. If you’re going, look out for former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo playing with Suicidal Tendencies.

Beach House, Skyler Skjelset @ Webster Hall
Last year, Beach House released not one but two new records, Depression Cherry and Thank Your Lucky Stars. Both are proof that even when Beach House don’t stray far from their usual path, they can still come out with fantastic music. This is the last of their three sold-out nights at Webster Hall.

Lucinda Williams @ City Winery
Lucinda Williams’ new album The Ghosts of Highway 20 is a dark, depressing album, sadly inspired by the death of her father, and it’s also one of her strongest recent releases. Tonight she continues her five-show run at City Winery.

Mike Birbiglia @ The Lynn Redgrave Theater
Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been doing his show “Thank God for the Jokes” for nearly two years. He’s putting it to bed, but not before this run which just got extended through May.

Bill Frisell (guitar) Petra Haden (vocals) Eyvind Kang (viola) Thomas Morgan (bass) Rudy Royston (drums) @ Village Vanguard
Experimental guitarist Bill Frisell has played with John Zorn in the grindcore/jazz band Naked City, Lucinda Williams, Richard Hell, Arto Lindsay and more. This five-night run is with that dog.’s Petra Haden on vocals.

Noel Fielding @ Gramercy Theatre
British comedian and Mighty Boosh co-creator Noel Fielding continues his six-show run tonight.
