What's going on Wednesday?

Code Orange
Code Orange

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Code Orange, Youth Code, Nicole Dollanganger, Lifeless, Jukai @ The Marlin Room at Webster Hall
Code Orange’s nu-metal-ish major label debut Forever is out now, and we hear the crowds at the shows on this tour have been crazy. NYC finally gets to see for itself tonight. Good openers too, including EBM duo Youth Code, dark singer/songwriter Nicole Dollanganger, and more.

Leonard Cohen tribute w/ Adam Rubenstein, Richie Birkenhead, Will Sheff, Bird of Youth & more @ Hi-Fi Bar
There have been some tributes to the late, great Leonard Cohen since his death, and here’s a pretty cool one. It’s got two punk/hardcore musicians, Adam Rubenstein (Split Lip/Chamberlain) and Richie Birkenhead (Underdog, Into Another), plus indie rock staple Will Sheff, Bird of Youth, and many more.

P.O.S, Ceshi Ramos, Transit22 @ Mercury Lounge
Indie rapper P.O.S. remains active and just released his new album Chill, Dummy (which features Justin Vernon, Kathleen Hanna, and a handful of others) a couple weeks ago. His tour in support of it hits NYC tonight.

Netherlands, The Giraffes, Ice Balloons, Debbie Downer, Bunny Buxom, Anja Keister @ Saint Vitus
This is a good show for a good cause. Vitus hosts a diverse lineup of experimental bands, and the proceeds go to Planned Parenthood. Sold out.

The Icebergs, Big Bliss, I Am The Polish Army, Jessica Delfino @ Sunnyvale
Depsite existing in one form or another for ten years, bluesy indie rock band I Am the Polish Army and just now getting around to releasing their debut album.

Bridget Everett & The Tender Moments @ Joe’s Pub
Audacious, unexpurgated and not for the uptight, Bridget Everette is also hilariously entertaining and her band The Tender Moments (that often includes Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz).

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
