What's going on Wednesday?

U2 Joshua Tree

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

U2, The Lumineers @ MetLife Stadium
The Joshua Tree made U2 worldwide superstars and they are celebrate the record’s 30th anniversary by playing it in full — from “Where the Streets Have No Name” to “Mothers of the Disappeared” — on this tour, that will also feature lots of other songs.

Manchester Orchestra @ Mercury Lounge
Manchester Orchestra are releasing their new album A Black Mile to the Surface in July and playing a massive NYC show at Terminal 5 in September, but tonight they’re playing somewhere WAY smaller. Mercury Lounge is the first place the band played in NYC back in 2007. Maybe we’ll get some oldies for the occasion.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Amine, Kamaiyah, XXXTentacion, KYLE, PnB Rock, Ugly God, Kap G, Playboi Carti, MADENINTYO @ PlayStation Theater (XXL Freshmen Showcase)
This year’s XXL Freshmen include the great melodic rapper Kamaiyah, hooksmith PnB Rock, novelty rapper Ugly God, the increasingly famous Playboi Carti, auto-tune dude KYLE, “Caroline” hitmaker Amine, and more. This is the NYC showcase for the 2017 class.

Thou, Cloud Rat, False, Moloch, Syndromes @ Villain
Sludge greats Thou and black metal greats False have toured together in the past and they’re doing it again. Thou say they have new material on the way — maybe they’ll preview some new songs tonight.

Big Business, Tight Fright, IYEZ, Mutant Scum @ Saint Vitus
Sludgy stoner rockers Big Business returned last year with Command Your Weather. Now they’re back out on the road for another round of dates in support of it.

John Legend, Gallant @ The Theater at Madison Square Garden
John Legend is on tour supporting last year’s Darkness and Light, and opening for him is rising R&B singer Gallant.

Rare Essence, DJ Kool, Felix Hernandez Rhythm Revue @ Betsy Head Park
DC hip hop/go-go vets Rare Essence and DJ Kool team up for this free SummerStage show in Brownsville’s Betsy Head Park.

Dr. Lonnie Smith 75th Birthday Celebration @ Jazz Standard
Jazz legend Dr. Lonnie Smith is celebrating his 75th birthday with a run of shows at the Jazz Standard. He’s doing two shows a night through July 2.
