What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Echo & The Bunnymen, Violent Femmes @ Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk
Ever wanted to hear Echo & the Bunnymen do “Ocean Rain” or “Seven Seas” on the actual seaside? That could happen tonight when the UK alt-rock greats team up with fellow ’80s college radio staples Violent Femmes for a night of hits.

Royal Headache, Sheer Mag, Downtown Boys @ House of Vans
House of Vans hosts a free (with RSVP) triple attack of punk bands tonight, with Australia’s power pop-leaning Royal Headache, Philly’s classic rock-inspired Sheer Mag, and Providence’s highly political, sax-fueled Downtown Boys.

Jill Scott, BJ the Chicago Kid @ Kings Theatre
Neo-soul great Jill Scott is still touring in support of 2015’s Woman, and tonight she plays Brooklyn’s gorgeous Kings Theatre with Motown-signed R&B singer BJ the Chicago Kid.

‘Office Space’ w/ gobbinjr @ McCarren Park (SummerScreen)
Williamsburg’s long-running outdoor movie series SummerScreen continues with Mike Judge’s classic workplace comedy Office Space and a live set from gobbinjr. Doors are at 6 PM, music’s at 7:30 and the movie starts at sundown. Free.

The Cactus Blossoms, Native Harrow @ Mercury Lounge
You may have seen Minneapolis duo The Cactus Blossoms on Twin Peaks: The Return. With a twangy, lonesome sound that recalls The Everly Brothers, brothers Jack Torrey and Page Burkum fit right into Lynch’s world.

Now Now, Dem Yuut @ Rough Trade
Now, Now recently released their first song in five years, “SGL,” an acoustic/electronic song that sorta finds the middle ground between ’00s emo and ’80s pop. Maybe they’ll preview some more new material at tonight’s show.

Bridget Everett @ Joe’s Pub
Unexpurgated and very funny, Bridget Everett’s musical revue is not for the faint of heart or easily embarrassed. But everybody else, it’s a hoot.

Pokey LaFarge, The Deslondes @ Bowery Ballroom
Pokey LaFarge’s new album Manic Revelations moves on from the old timey folk revival of his earlier material, with bigger, more modern production and lots of horns.

The Cave Singers, LAPêCHE @ Mercury Lounge
The Cave Singers are on the road in continued support of last year’s Banshee, hitting NYC tonight.

Mom Jeans, Oso Oso, Palhth, Graduation Life, Teenage Halloween @ Brooklyn Night Bazaar
Among the artists on this bill is Oso Oso, who have picked up some buzz in the “emo revival” community for this year’s The Yunahon Mixtape.

Kelly Lee Owens @ Good Room
Kelly Lee Owens released her debut album earlier this year, and it’s an excellent mix of heady electronic music and vocal-oriented pop. Tonight’s her first NYC show ever.
