You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Dave Chappelle, The Roots, Ice Cube, Common, Vince Staples @ Radio City Music Hall
It’s night two of Dave Chappelle’s guest-filled 16-show Radio City residency, and this show is especially stacked. It’s the second of four nights with The Roots, and there’s also Ice Cube, who’s been at the top of his game since Straight Outta Compton and the new Dre album reignited public interest in NWA. There’s also conscious rap vet Common, and the extremely talented rap newcomer Vince Staples, whose new electronic album Big Fish Theory is one of this year’s most unpredictable releases.

Fleet Foxes, (Sandy) Alex G @ Prospect Park Bandshell
Fleet Foxes ended their hiatus this year with their long-awaited third album, Crack-Up, and it not only ranks among their best work but has their most ambitious songs yet. Rising indie rocker (Sandy) Alex G, who last played NYC as Frank Ocean’s guitarist at Panorama this past weekend, opens both Prospect Park shows. This is night two.

Phish @ Madison Square Garden
Phish are on night ten of their “Baker’s Dozen” run at MSG. Each show has a different flavored donut to go with it, and themed songs to match the flavor throughout their sets.

J. Cole, Anderson .Paak, Bas, J.I.D., Ari Lennox @ Barclays Center
The ever popular J Cole is on the road supporting his late-2016 LP 4 Your Eyez Only, and he has killer direct support from neo-soul singer/drummer Anderson Paak. The tour also has Bas, J.I.D, and Ari Lennox, who are all on Cole’s Dreamville label. This is their second of two nights at Barclays Center, and they also play Nassau Coliseum on Saturday.

Gillian Welch @ Beacon Theatre
Gillian Welch’s fantastic 2011 album The Harrow & the Harvest just got its first-ever vinyl release, and she’s currently on tour with her musical partner, Dave Rawlings performing the album in full.

Angelique Kidjo, Ibibio Sound Machine @ Lincoln Center/Damrosch Park Bandshell
Same as it ever was? Not in this case, as  Grammy Award–winning singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo reimagines Talking Heads’ 1980 classic,  Remain in Light. This performance is part of the free Lincoln Center Out of Doors series.

I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sammus @ McCarren Park (SummerScreen)
It’s the penultimate SummerScreen, the free movie series in McCarren Park, for 2017 and tonight it’s classic ’90s horror flick I Know What You Did Last Summer. Sammus play live before the movie.
