Ice Balloons, Honduras, Chorizo, Blood Cultures @ Union Pool (Puerto Rico benefit)
TV on the Radio guitarist Kyp Malone breaks out his freak-friendly side project Ice Balloons for this Puerto Rico benefit that also features the poppy Honduras and Chorizo (OJ from X Ray Eyeballs’ new band).

Soft Fangs, Wild Pink, Pom Pom Squad @ Elsewhere
This is a pretty good bill of local indie rock, with the bedroom folk-ish Soft Fangs, the atmospheric Tiny Engines-signed Wild Pink, and the ’90s alt-rock-inspired Pom Pom Squad.

Jose James @ Blue Note
Neo-soul great Jose James is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his 2008 debut album The Dreamer with a residency at the Blue Note, with two shows a night through February 8. This is night four.

Beautiful/Anonymous Podcast with Chris Gethard @ The Bell House
‘Beautiful/Anonymous’ is Chris Gethard’s podcast where he takes calls from anonymous strangers and lets the conversation play out however it may. He’s taping new episodes at a residency at The Bell House this month. This is the first night, and this one is sold out.

Janeane Garafalo, Nikki Glaser, Rich Vos, Pete Lee, Chris Distefano, Ron Bennington, Mark Normand, Steve Byrne, and more @ The Stand
Inside Amy Schumer writer/castmember Nikki Glaser and Janeane Garofalo highlight this night of standup.
