Early this year, Widowspeak released their fourth album, Expect The Best, a further refinement of their dusty, twangy sound. The band’s tour in support of it wrapped up on Friday (10/13) at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade, where they played with Clearance and Air Waves. Widowspeak played just under an hour before guitarist Robert Earl Thomas brought the tour to a ceremonious ending by smashing his guitar on the Rough Trade stage. Singer Molly Hamilton introduced each song with a simple “new” and “old” as the audience gazed towards the saturated blue and purple stage. Pictures from the night are in this post.
