Will Haven playing East Coast one-off in NYC

Will Haven Muerte

Post-hardcore/alt-metal vets Will Haven emerged from the same Sacramento music scene as Far and Deftones (and they’ve collaborated with members of both bands), and last year they returned with their first album in seven years, Muerte. It’s got some guest guitar from Deftones’ Stephen Carpenter, as well guest vocals from YOB’s Mike Scheidt, and it does a great job of bringing Will Haven’s sound into the present without changing what people love most about them. It’s not surprising that some critics have called it arguably their best record yet, or that Converge’s Nate Newton called it one of his favorites of 2018. If you haven’t heard it yet, you can stream the whole thing below.

Will Haven will keep the late-career momentum going with 2019 shows, of which there are currently two. They’re playing an exclusive East Coast one-off at NYC’s Saint Vitus on April 28 with support from likeminded veteran New York bands Architect and Locked In A Vacancy, as well as newer local band Nerveshatter. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (2/8) at 10 AM. Will Haven’s only other currently announced date is France’s Hellfest.
