Williamsburg Fashion Weekend kicks off at Glasslands
As fashion week is coming to an end, Williamsburg Fashion Weekend is just beginning…
Now in its seventh season, Williamsburg Fashion Weekend continues to show the work of designers who have their fingers on the hip and now, with a nod to the past and eyes wide open to the future. Assembling a dozen young designers who make one-of-a-kind garments or small-run collections with an emphasis on fair trade, ecofriendliness, artisan techniques and transparent business practices, WFW celebrates the handmade and the visionary. Founder and curator Arthur Arbit has a passion for the unwavering, personal, take-no-prisoners aesthetic vision. A designer and fine artist himself, he is interested in combining all forms of performance art into his fashion shows.
This season’s event will be held at Glasslands Gallery, located at 289 Kent Ave. Williamsburg, Brooklyn on September 17th and 18th, 2010. Doors open at 8pm. Entry is $8.
