Win Butler, MGMT, and Devon Welsh (ex Majical Cloudz) offer up Alan Vega tributes (listen)

We lost protopunk/punk/postpunk icon Alan Vega on Saturday which has prompted many many tributes. Among them, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, under his DJ Windows 98 guise, offered up a cover of classic Suicide track “Dream Baby Dream.” Listen:

Perhaps Arcade Fire will cover the song this weekend at Panorama (like they did at Barclays Center in 2014)? Meanwhile another Montreal musician, former Majical Cloudz frontman Devon Welsh, has shared a tribute song titled “Me and Alan Vega” which he made in 2011 but never released, until now:

Finally, MGMT have covered Alan Vega’s solo song “Goodbye, Darling” which was from his 1983 album Saturn Strip. Listen:
