Winter Jazz Fest

NYC’s annual multi-venue Winter Jazz Fest returns in 2018 from January 10-18 and takes place at Le Poisson Rouge, Town Hall, The New School, Bowery Ballroom, SOB’s, Subculture, Zinc Bar, The Bitter End, The Roxy Hotel, and Nublu.

In addition to the previously mentioned Jose James (Bill Withers tribute) / My Brightest Diamond show at LPR, the 2018 lineup includes a collaborative show with Deerhoof and trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith on 1/17 at LPR, a tribute to Geri Allen, a British jazz showcase hosted by Gilles Peterson, a tribute to Alice Coltrane’s music by her son Ravi Coltrane, and a show with the genre-defying Buika at Town Hall.

The Friday (1/12) marathon includes Marc Ribot (9:40 PM at The New School and 12:40 AM at Bowery Ballroom), Rafiq Bhatia (11:40 PM at Subculture), Itamar Borochov with Innov Gnawa (6:40 PM at Nublu), and much more.

The Saturday (1/13) marathon includes Pete Rock & The Soul Brothers (1:40 AM at Bowery Ballroom), Sun Ra Arkestra performing a live score to Space is the Place (11 PM at The New School), Sylvie Courvoisier & Mark Feldman duo (7:40 PM at The New School), Red Baraat (10:40 PM at SOB’s), Laura Perrudin feat. Becca Stevens (8:40 PM at The Bitter End), Susie Ibarra (8 PM at Nublu), Dave Harrington’s Merry Pranksters (12 AM and 2 AM at Nublu), and much more.
