Wolvhammer announce tour with Mortals, playing Acheron

The heatwave still reigns, but the fall is already starting to look awesomely bleak. Blackened batterers Wolvhammer will be hitting the road at the end of October with Mortals for an East Coast tour. The two groups will play cities such as Boston, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. On November 5, they’ll stop into NYC’s the Acheron. Tickets and supporting bands will be announced soon. Both bands delivered winners this year, highlights of what has been a sneakily strong year of metal. Wolvhammer released their third full-length, Clawing into Black Sun, in July via Profound Lore Records. The weighty slab managed to up the Minneapolitans’ game, adding new elements to their attack including a thick atmosphere of doom. Brooklyn’s Mortals dropped Cursed to See the Future, their second LP, on Relapse around the same time. Cleverly fusing together a number of styles, Cursed to See the Future stretched out to deliver epic-length songs colored with a cool crustiness.
