See the lineup by day so far below. More artists are still to be added.
As Stereogum reports, the lineup was announced at an event at NYC’s Electric Lady Studios on Tuesday night (3/19). “The Secret Session,” as it was billed, featured a panel discussion with original Woodstock co-creator Michael Lang, and performances from John Fogerty and Common.
Lang is spearheading Woodstock 50, and Superfly, the producers behind Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and others, are handing logistics and festival building. Along with live music, the festival is is set to include film screenings, resident jugglers and clowns, tributes to original Woodstock artists, and a livestream.
Of the initial lineup, Dead & Company, John Fogerty, Santana, John Sebastian, Country Joe McDonald, and Canned Heat are all veterans of the original Woodstock. Santana is also set to perform at original Woodstock site Bethel Woods on anniversary weekend, on August 17 (tickets). That show is part of three separate events that will celebrate Woodstock’s anniversary at the venue; previous plans for a three-day festival from Live Nation and INVNT were scaled down, and INVNT pulled out. Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band, Arlo Guthrie, and The Edgar Winter Band perform on at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Friday, August 16 (tickets go on sale Friday 3/22 at 10 AM). Performers for Sunday, 8/18 at Bethel are still TBA.
Tickets to Woodstock 50 go on sale April 22 (which happens, not coincidentally, to be Earth Day), but pricing information, as well as a specific onsale time, is still to be announced. Stay tuned for more information.
