Brian Fallon & Worriers announce new albums, touring together

Worriers have announced a followup to 2017’s Survival Pop (which came out on SideOneDummy just a few months before that label parted ways with many of its newer artists). It’s called You or Someone You Know, and it’ll come out on March 6 via the trusty 6131 Records. The album was produced by the great John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, etc), and it’s Worriers’ first with new guitarist Frank Piegaro, who joins singer/songwriter/guitarist Lauren Denitzio, drummer Mikey Erg, and bassist Nick Psillas. It also follows Lauren splitting with their partner and moving from LA to Philly. “It’s about wanting to build a life for myself when it feels like the world is ending,” Lauren says. “Building a life where I’m reconstructing my relationships to everything and everyone.”

The first single is “PWR CPLE,” and you can very much hear those themes coming through on this one. It’s also — as you’d expect from Worriers — an instantly likable dose of catchy, anthemic punk. Listen below. You can pre-order the album from 6131, and $1 from each pre-order until March 6 will be donated to Tiny Changes, a charity focused on mental health among young people founded by the family of the late Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison.

Worriers have also announced that they’ll support The Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon on a 2020 tour, which also includes Justin Townes Earle (who released his new album The Saint of Lost Causes this year). That appealing triple bill includes a NJ show on March 29 at Count Basie Theatre and a NYC show on April 1 at Town Hall. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (12/13) at 10 AM with various presales beforehand. All dates are listed below.

UPDATE: Brian also announced a new album, Local Honey, due March 27 via Lesser Known/Thirty Tigers (pre-order). Watch the video for the melancholic lead single “You Have Stolen My Heart” and check out the artwork and tracklist below.

UPDATE 2 (12/17): Brian added additional NYC and NJ shows, happening at Webster
Hall on March 31
and Count Basie Theatre on April 2, respectively. Tickets go on sale Friday (12/20) at 10 AM with an artist presale starting Wednesday (12/18) at noon, using the password LOCALHONEY.
