Yo La Tengo recently wrapped up their eight-night Hanukkah run at Maxwell’s. At those shows, different people make a mix CD for each night, and this year discs were made by Yoni Wolf, Ira Kaplan, Cory Raybron of Three Lobed Recordings, Georgia Hubley, Shintaro Sakamoto, James McNew, Kurt Wagner, and Tom Scharpling. Now, for 24 hours only, you can purchase the mixtapes at Yo La Tengo’s website. Sounds like a pretty great last minute gift for that Yo La Tengo-obsessed family member of yours, and “every penny will be donated directly to our pals at Norton Records, who were very nearly wiped out by Sandy.”

As mentioned, YLT are releasing a new album, Fade, on January 15 via Matador and supporting the album on a tour which hits NYC on February 16 at Town Hall. Tickets for that show are still available. The band just revealed the video for a track off that album, “Ohm.” If you missed it, you can watch it below.
