Belle & Sebastian‘s Boaty Weekender festival cruise just wrapped up its maiden voyage, which sailed from Barcelona, Spain to Cagliari, Sardinia and featured performances from B&S, Teenage Fanclub, Yo La Tengo, The Vaselines, Japanese Breakfast, Django Django, Camera Obscura, Alvvays, Mogwai and more.

One of the initially announced acts was Buzzcocks whose co-founder, Pete Shelley, died in December. It was a bit uncertain what would happen with their set, but Steve Diggle decided to carry on and take over all vocal duties. Buzzcocks had two performances on Boaty Weekender: a regular set on August 9, and then a special “Buzzcocks & Friends” set on August 10 where many of the other acts playing joined in to sing lead and pay tribute to Pete Shelley. We haven’t seen a full setlist with all the performers but Belle & Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch sang “What Do I Get?” while his bandmate Stevie Jackson sang “Sixteen Again.” Vincent Neff sang “Something’s Gone Wrong Again,” and more.

You can watch Instagram videos of some of those performances and a few pics from the “Buzzcocks & Friends” set, below.
